Captain Charles Corbit's Charge, Westminister, Maryland

Captain Charles Corbit

The historical marker located near East Main Street and Washington Road. The wording states this action delayed General Stuart from reaching the Gettysburg battlefield until July 2, 1863. 

Captain Corbit led his Delaware troopers down East Main Street to clash with the famed Confederate cavalry of General J.E.B. Stuart.

The curve in the Washington Road was the site of the Battle of Westminister.
