A view not seen in decades, Steven's Knoll, Gettysburg National Battlefield, Pennsylvania

This was not completely a historical "travel" but rather a trip to witness a success story, again, by the American Battlefield Trust.
The privately owned military museum along the Baltimore Pike is gone forever and the area has been restored to the line of sights present in 1863.
The area west of Steven's Knoll will continue to be restored further. The middle view is looking east towards the summit of the knoll. The far right view, of East Cemetery Hill, is looking west. Both have not been seen directly for decades! This area will be the subject of a future post when we "travel" and research the fight on East Cemetery Hill the evening of July 2, 1863.

Steven's Knoll Short

Stevens Knoll's distance from the National Civil War Museum, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania: 44.3 miles.
